To strengthen the successful cooperation between Sweden and Latvia, Swedish Business Awards 2017 ceremony organised by the Swedish Embassy and Swedish Trade and Investment Council will take place for the ninth year in a row and on November 2 at Spikeri Concert Hall from 14:00 to 16:15. The event will also be available on 360 degree video live broadcast ensured by Telia Latvia.

Companies were invited to submit their success stories during September in three categories – the Sustainable Growth Award, the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Technological Innovation of the Year Award, which will be presented this year in co-operation with Telia Latvia.

Any company or organization that actively operates in Latvia could apply for each of the categories. The Swedish Business Awards highlight successful examples of international co-operation and sustainable business. The applications were evaluated by a commission composed of representatives of the Swedish Embassy, ​​Swedish Trade and Investment Council, Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, Institute for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility, Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia, World Wildlife Fund, and Telia Latvia.

In addition to the official speeches and awards, a world-class personality gives a speech at the event every year, and this year it will be a writer, lecturer, world champion in shooting sport and a Swedish military officer – Christina Bengtsson. Christina’s success formula lies in the ability to concentrate. Concentration is a phenomenon, to the research of which she has devoted her career, and she warns that future generations may not be able to develop this ability at all. She teaches how to stay focused and shares her fascinating story of how she achieved great things thanks to the force of concentration.
