TELIA NEW VIRTUAL CLOUD SERVERS’ NODE IN COPENHAGEN INCREASES THE CAPACITY OF TOTAL RESOURCES BY 30%

04 OCT, 2019

Telia Latvija proudly announces availability of Telia virtual cloud servers’ node in Copenhagen. We are expanding our fully automated IaaS cloud platform in self-service mode into new geographic location.

With this major addition of new infrastructure node, we increased the capacity of total resources by more than 30%. However, the most important addition is increased geo-redundancy option for our customers.

New  Telia virtual cloud servers’ node has been deployed in Telia Carrier owned datacentre and our customers can benefit from excellent redundant interconnections by bringing highly available low latency network connection to their workloads.

Built on proven technology components (Cisco, NetApp, VMWare and CloudStack), new  Telia virtual cloud servers’ node reflect the same architecture as nodes in Riga.  Telia virtual cloud servers’ nodes in both countries share integrated self-service management panel, but still are fully (physically and logically) independent from infrastructure user perspective.

Telia Solutions for Media customers can now benefit both from lower latency connections for live stream ingest (by bringing ingest points closer to Western Europe and Nordics) and from using multi-cloud strategy for redundant playouts.

Other customers, that run (or will run) their workloads in our IaaS service, now can add more high availability scenarios by distributing their DNS and MX servers between geographically dispersed regions, deploying new backup or disaster recovery policies and by leveraging on global server load balancing for Web and application servers.
